Spendgo DIY Holiday Campaigns

 

The holiday seasons are always a crucial time to engage with your customers, not only because it is a special time, but also because they’re shopping and sharing experiences with their friends and family. In this post, we’ll take a look at what were some of the most popular loyalty marketing campaigns that restaurant and retail brands ran to strengthen their relationship with customers and how to set them up.

Here are four types of build-it-yourself campaigns with their respective step-by-step instructions, which have proven to be effective and were right on point for the holiday season:

 

Hours of Operation


  • Campaign: Send a text message letting your customers know if your hours are changing for the holidays, or even better, letting them know that you’re open while most others are not. 

  • Step-by-step: 

    • Select a “Date & Time” campaign

    • Select the “Text Message” action

    • Write a sample text message and schedule dates/times to send it out

    • Target all SMS subscribers

Message content example: “We are open on the 25th!”

 

Thank You Offer

 

    • Campaign: Send a thank you offer to customers by adding points to their account and send a message to let them know about it. 

    • Step-by-step: 

      • Select a “Date & Time” campaign

      • Select the “Offer” action

      • In “Offer Type” choose “Add Points” as the type of offer and fill out the rest of the offer details

      • Target all SMS subscribers 

  • Offer Example:

    • Offer Name: 100 points just for you

    • Offer description/message: "Thank you for being a loyal customer, here are 100 points for your next purchase!"

A thank you campaign works for any special event that is relevant to your brand or audience like the anniversary of your opening, a major sports event, Giving Tuesday, Black Friday, Back to School, and so on.

Store Visits

 

  • Campaign: Send an offer for customers that make a visit in the first two weeks of December (or any time of year when there is high traffic near your stores) while people are out shopping

  • Step-by-step:

    • Select  “Date & Time” campaign

    • Select the “Offer” action

    • In “Offer Type” choose the desired type of offer and fill out the details

    • Targeting an audience of greater than 0 visits from the 10 days before the campaign, using Christmas as an example:  12/1-12/14 

    • Run your campaign as a 10-day window, for Christmas, for example, starting on 12/15.

  • Offer Example

    • Offer type: Discount ($)

    • Offer Name: $10 Off

    • Offer Description: Make a $20 purchase and get $10 Off

Gift Card

 

  • Campaign: Add points to a member for buying a gift card in december.

  • Step-by-step: 

    • Select the “Purchase Item” campaign

    • Choose “Add Points” in Bonus Type

    • Select “Gift Card” as qualifying item and fill out all details

    • Schedule campaign

  • Offer Example: 

    • Add 100 points

    • Offer Name: Buy a Gift Card and earn 100 points!
